A voice that swore to be a friend
A bond that bends but will not mend
A trust that none will dare defend

A whispered vow a twisted gaze
A path once clear now lost in haze
A mind once free now trapped in maze
A truth once bright now set to blaze

A hand once warm now cold as stone
A heart once full now left alone
A fate once near now carved in bone
A love once whole now overthrown prone

A world that speaks yet none will hear
A hope that fades in silent fear
A name once known now disappears near
A road once walked now steeped in tear

A mask once worn now hides a face
A shadow walks yet leaves no trace
A past once real now falls from grace
A truth once clear now lost in space

A trust once sworn now meets its end
A war once fought now sways in bend
A hand once held now set to send
A past once pure now cracks to rend

A hunger grows yet none will feed
A wound still fresh yet few will bleed
A heart once strong now built on greed
A loss once feared now seen in need

A tale once sung now fades in song
A path once right now turned so wrong
A road once short now stretched so long
A love once firm now lost to strong

A battle fought yet none defend
A silence kept yet few pretend
A war once waged yet meets no end
A soul once known now breaks to bend
