The Storm Inside
Drakaris Thalion
A restless mind that will not stay
A thousand thoughts all drift away
I start a task, forget the way
The world moves fast, my mind won’t stay
I build a plan, it's gone by noon
I set a goal but lose it soon
I chase the time, it fades like moon
The days just end, they pass too soon
I hear the words but miss the start
I try to listen, drift apart
I grab a thought, it breaks apart
A moment lost, an empty part
Forget the keys, forget the call
Forget the steps, forget it all
I write a list, watch focus fall
The time is gone, it took it all
The hands must move, the feet must pace
The restless thoughts begin to race
I try to stop but lose the place
My mind runs wild, it has no pace
I talk too fast, I speak too quick
I cut them off, the words don’t stick
Regret arrives, it makes me sick
But filters break, they crack too quick
The money spent, the guilt sets in
I swore I’d save but moods can spin
Impulse pulls, I let it win
And later shame will burn my skin
I start to clean, the floor is clear
Then turn around, the mess is here
I chase control but lose the steer
The cycle spins throughout the year
The body here, the mind is gone
It jumps ahead, moves on and on
I blink, the present turns to dawn
A moment lost, a page withdrawn
I chase the rush, the need to try
I reach too far, I touch the sky
But one misstep, I fall and cry
The fire fades, I ask for why
They see too much, they see too loud
They see too lost within the crowd
Yet silence wraps just like a shroud
As thoughts scream fiercely, fast and loud
They see the mess but not the fire
The mind that climbs yet slips in wire
A spark that burns but won’t expire
A soul that fights yet lifts in fire
A restless storm that rages deep
A battle fought yet none may keep
A mind that wakes when all should sleep
A will that drowns but will not weep
So judge me not by what you see
For chains may break and set me free
This mind may crash but still will be
A force untamed, yet wild and free
